What this site is
AcousticLeak is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. We carry out no work and no leak location, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call. Nothing here is a statement about what your own utility will credit; only your utility can tell you that.West Roxbury in numbers

The adjustment is worth asking about
Many utilities will adjust a bill once for a hidden leak that has been repaired, on evidence. The terms are set by your own utility and nobody else can tell you what they are.
How it is actually found
Acoustic listening on the fittings, then correlation between two points on the line, narrows a leak to within a meter or so before anything is opened. Ground-penetrating and tracer-gas methods follow where listening cannot.
